Relevance: match what people search
- Pick the most accurate primary category for your main service.
- Add secondary categories only for services you really offer.
- List every service, with a short description of each.
- Write a clear business description: what you do and which towns you serve.
Prominence: show you are established
- A steady flow of new reviews, with replies.
- Real photos of your team, trucks and finished jobs, added regularly.
- The same business name, address and phone on your site, Yelp, Facebook and directories.
- A website with a page for each service and town, linked from your profile.
Service-area businesses
If you go to your customers, set your service areas in your profile and hide your address if customers do not visit you. Show the towns you serve on your website as well.
What does not work
- Adding keywords or town names to your business name. Google can suspend profiles for it.
- Fake addresses or virtual offices.
- Buying reviews.
Keep it up
Rankings move with activity. Profiles that keep getting reviews, photos and updates tend to hold their place better than ones set up once and forgotten.
